Alwood Sisters: About Us

Alwood Sisters continue a family tradition that was established in the 1960's by their late father, Bob Alwood. As a singer, songwriter and musician, Bob led and recorded with many Columbus, Ohio bands including The Gears, until his death in 1980.

Amy and Meagan Alwood have picked up where their father left off with an innovative and truly unique style of music. Their songs are all original and are created in the spirit of that tasty kind of rock you can only get from a good piece of vinyl.

In 2007, the sisters were joined by the brothers Jovan and Milan Karcic who also embody a rich musical heritage starting with their Deda (grandfather), Jovan Karcic I, to their father, Aleksandar and his brother, Mico, and on to the bands the brothers contributed to as adults. To name a few, these boys wrote and recorded with some of Columbus, Ohio's most successful bands including Scrawl, Gaunt, Haynes Boys, Burn Barrel, and Salthorse.

The creative union of Amy, Meagan, Milan and Jovan has spawned a four-songwriter famban (family band) whose debut independent release Black Falcon and the Forest Spirit is an appropriate salute to real live honest to goodness m-u-s-i-c!

The Alwood Sisters band is:

Amy Alwood: vocals, guitar, bass

Meagan Alwood-Karcic: vocals, guitar, bass, wurlitzer

Milan Alwood-Karcic: vocals, guitar, bass

Jovan Karcic: percussion
